It is really old and has so much history that the bar area is packed with memorabilia from many years gone by. The lady behind the bar is nearly 90 years old and believe me, she could out-work many much younger than her. Pubspy struck up a conversation with her then wondered around the hotel in awe of the condition of all the furnishings and old pictures hanging on the walls. Yeah, Pubspy could have stayed longer just to hear Margaret chat about her life at Kookynie. Brilliant Experience!

Pub is for sale and it’s just one of those places where nostalgia takes over. The horse just appeared one day, loved Margaret and never left. Well worth a small detour and the resident horse visits daily.
