40 Acres Brewing

PubSpy recommends you travel along the Creswick Newstead Road in the direction of Creswick. You'll pass a tiny sign saying welcome to Sandon, then a few kms further on, there is Providence Gully Road, a small blue sign for the cemetery and the very next turn on the left is House Lane and there you will find: Forty Acres Brewing which is an Australian enterprise founded by husband and wife team Trev and Jo Mitchell. Based in Central Vic, and passionate about all things beer, the couple decided to take the plunge into making their own beer in commercial quantities after one too many dinner parties of encouragement from friends near and far. Without using any preservatives or artificial enhancers Forty Acres beer covers a range of styles and alcohol strengths to suit almost any palate.

Forty Acres Brewing grew from a home brew fanatic. Living in China most recently in a high rise apartment and looking for a hobby, Trev the head brewer, would brew up a storm in the little kitchen and Jo would then invite her mates round for a sample. When the couple decided it was time to head back to Australia to give their kids a taste of Australia, they bought 40 Acres of land in Sandon, Central Victoria and started to grow their own hops.
