PubSpy discovered Trev originally planted Cascade, Chinook, Pride of Ringwood and Victoria hops last spring, and this year the height of the hop trellis has doubled in size and the vines are growing amazingly. There's high hopes that they'll be enough of these organically grown hops to allow for the release of a beer using 100% organic ingredients come Autumn. Without using any preservatives or artificial enhancers, Forty Acres beer will cover a range of styles and alcohol strengths to suit almost any palate. A benefit of their beer being made in relatively small volume is they can custom a specialty batch to a specific audience or season, whilst keeping the favourites available all year round. The long term goal of Forty Acres is to produce a great beer made with their home grown hops.

When Trev and Jo, who were living in China, decided it was time to head back to Australia to give their kids a taste of Australia, they bought 40 Acres of land in Sandon, Central Victoria and started to grow their own hops. Now a year on the Forty Acres enterprise is moving in to production of their own beer
